Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on September 14, 2025, addressing his concerns about political discourse and the actions of the Democratic Party.

In one tweet, Hudson referenced actor James Woods and wrote: "As @RealJamesWoods insightfully points out, this is the 'peaceful' and 'non-violent' side of the Democrat Party. They may not shoot you. They'll just openly conspire to deprive you of your rights and create the environment where other people can shoot you. See. Much better." (September 14, 2025).

Shortly after, Hudson commented on the nature of threats in political debate: "Until people are imprisoned for decades for such incitement, we're never getting back to civil debate. We can't. It won't be possible. One cannot have a 'discussion' under coercion. And threats like this are coercion." (September 14, 2025).

Later that day, he addressed Republican strategy: "Republicans need to stop worrying about what they imagine will work politically. It's a waste of time that keeps us from the real task. Instead, we should focus on what will work institutionally. If you had power, no concern for invalid opinions, and could fix problems, what" (September 14, 2025).

Hudson has previously been known for his outspoken views on political issues as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
