Tom Emmer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 6th district, recently used his social media platform to comment on several key policy issues and current events.
On September 7, 2025, Emmer urged legislative action regarding cryptocurrency regulation, stating, "Reminder: The Senate must finish the job on America’s pro-crypto future and pass the CLARITY Act."
The following day, he weighed in on tax policy for service industry workers. On September 8, 2025, Emmer posted: "No tax on tips puts more money in the pockets of American workers. McDonald’s president is right: that’s good policy!"
Later that same day, Emmer commented on public safety concerns. He wrote: "An innocent 23-year-old woman is dead because a dangerous, repeat offender was let back onto the streets time and time again. Soft on crime kills."
Emmer has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Michele Bachmann. He previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and William Mitchell College of Law.
