CITY OF DELANO: Peaceful Black Lives Matter March

City of Delano issued the following announcement on July 23.

The City of Delano received a request for a peaceful Black Lives Matter march held tonight (Friday, July 24) from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Based on the application and information submitted, the City of Delano has issued a permit for the event with the following conditions:

1. The event will be conducted without closing streets or public property

2. Participants will be using the public sidewalks and walking paths

3. The event will follow the approved route: Delano High School north on Tiger Drive, west on County Road 30 to Central Park, continue south on River Street to Elm Avenue, Elm Avenue to City Hall, Elm Avenue to the High School.

4. There will be no amplified sound. No microphones, amplifiers, or megaphones

5. The event will consist of one hundred people or less

6. The event will not be conducted on private property

7. The event must be conducted within the guidelines of all state and local laws, including the State Safe MN laws, rules and COVID-19 guidelines
