Description

Greetings from the Monticello Royal Ambassador Program! We hope everyone is doing well during this difficult and strange time. 2020 is definitely not going as we had planned!

As we are sure you are aware, there have been questions on whether or not Monticello, as well as our neighboring communities, will be continuing with their Ambassador and Candidate programs during these uncertain times. After much discussion, the Monticello Chamber Board decided that under the current circumstances it would be best to suspend the 2020 Monticello Royal Ambassador Program and our 2020 Candidate Experience as it is unclear at this time when things will return to any semblance of normalcy. Even though we are sad to be missing opportunities to meet and work with amazing young ladies from our community and surrounding areas, we feel this is the best and most responsible decision during the season we are currently in.

With that being said, we are happy to announce that our 2019-2020 Monticello Royal Ambassadors, Miss Monticello Lauren Pankow, Princess Myranda Turner and Princess Piper Zimmer-Gilman have graciously agreed to continue to represent Monticello and the Monticello Royal Ambassador Program until Riverfest 2021! We are unsure when neighboring community and local events will begin again but we are excited to have Miss Monticello Lauren, Princess Piper and Princess Myranda continue their outstanding job of representing our community during this time!

We are proud of our Monticello Royal Ambassador Program’s Candidate Experience and all of the educational, volunteer and fun events it entails and greatly appreciate the community members that volunteer their time to speak at or host our events every year! We do not want to shortchange our Candidates by offering only a small portion of this experience if things should open up prior to Riverfest but more importantly, with the economic situation we find ourselves in, we especially do not want to put an added financial burden on the wonderful Monticello businesses who support our program by sponsoring a candidate year after year.

With that being said, we are sorry that we will not have the opportunity to spend time with our Candidates during the Monticello Royal Ambassador Program’s 2020 Candidate Experience but we hope they will understand and join us when we begin the Monticello Royal Ambassador Program’s 2021 Candidate Experience in the spring!

Please check back here often as we will update and share pertinent information regarding our Monticello Royal Ambassador Program and announce updates regarding our 2021 Candidate Experience!!

Stay safe and take good care, everyone!!
