Sen. Bruce Anderson (R- Buffalo) published a letter detailing the bills he worked on and passed during 2020.
The first bill he listed was the bill that supported small businesses in crisis. It provides $60 million to small businesses in Minnesota. Businesses must have brick and mortar locations in Minnesota to qualify, as well as be owned by a Minnesota resident and have fewer than 50 employees.
“Every day, the closures mandated by the governor bring many small businesses one step closer to closing permanently,” Anderson said, according to the Minnesota State Republican Caucus. “We hope these grants will carry many of them out of these tough economic times and back to prosperity! We will continue working on solutions to protect our mom-and-pop shops as we navigate these times together.”
Another bill he supported is one that supports a balance of power between the legislative branch and the executive branch during states of emergency.
