The Wright County Parks Department is encouraging residents to not forget they can still get outside and recreate even during the COVID-19 crisis.
In a press release, the parks department noted the potential mental toll being stuck inside could have on residents as they move from winter into spring under the coronavirus restrictions that have kept them stuck at home.
“One area that has remained robust throughout these trying times has been the Wright County parks system,” the release states.
Families and individuals can still practice social distancing and other COVID-19 response protocols while getting out and enjoying the warming weather.
Not only can this provide exercise, but it can help residents to regain a sense of “normalcy” in their lives, according to the parks department.
"March is typically a slow time for recreation in our parks," said Wright County Parks and Recreation Director Mark Mattice. “But, we have seen a pretty big uptick in usage since COVID-19 started changing everyone's life. People just want to get out of the house and do something normal."
