MCA and MTAS: How many Litchfield Public School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Litchfield Public School District ranked first in the Meeker County for test participation, with 688 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Litchfield Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 2.3% from the previous year.

Litchfield Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 56% in 2021-22 school year.

Seventh grade students stood out with 25% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 31% not meeting the expected standards.

Litchfield Public School District encompasses schools within Meeker County and has a main office in Litchfield.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
