WRIGHT COUNTY: Parks Shelter Reservations Open Monday with New System

Wright county

Wright County issued the following announcement.

Wright County Parks & Recreation has a pair of important announcements for those intending to rent shelters at Beebe Lake County Park, Otsego County Park, Clearwater/Pleasant County Park, Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park and Collinwood and Schroeder Park in 2021.

First, online reservations will begin on the Parks & Recreation web page (http://www.co.wright.mn.us/132/Parks-Recreation). The system was launched this week and remains a work in progress. The new software (PerfectMind) will provide more functionality than the previous system, but will require users to create an account, which is recommended to be completed as soon as possible for those looking to reserve park shelters because of the second announcement.

At 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, reservations will begin being taken, but you will need to have created an account to access the reservation portal on the site. Existing accounts went away with the server change and new accounts will need to be created to make reservations on the new system. There are some minor procedural changes with the new software, but they are minor and shouldn’t create any confusion for those who have used the reservation platform in the past. The most noticeable change is that registrants will need to provide the approximate number of guests that will be at the function the shelters are being reserved for.

Last summer the Parks & Recreation Department evaluated the software that it had been using for several years for facility bookings (shelters and campgrounds). It was determined that the previous software wasn’t meeting the needs of parks customers and that a more user-friendly, interactive software was needed.

Wright County Parks & Recreation thanks its customers for their patience as the department works to provide a more engaging and user-friendly system for residents to utilize for facility bookings. Parks & Rec will continue to provide updates on any changes through its website and Facebook pages. If you have any questions, contact Wright County Parks and Recreation at (763) 682-7894 or by email at parksandrecreation@co.wright.mn.us
